Sweet Success: Students bake and sell 39 pies benefitting the Women's Housing Coalition

Stony Run Friends Meeting's Middle and High School First Day School students have been busy, baking and selling Thanksgiving pies to benefit Stony Run's Women's Housing Coalition Gift Bag Project.

Our young bakers took pre-orders for 39 pies in a variety of flavors, including apple,  pumpkin, pecan, and pecan chocolate chip. With the help of Friendly Adults Blaine, Guli, and RoJamie, the teens spent the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving busy baking pies, which were then picked up by Stony Run community members on the following First Day.

The funds raised helped to purchase holiday gift bag essentials for clients of the Women's Housing Coalition. Each year, Stony Run, in partnership with the Friends School of Baltimore, collects warm throws, socks, and wash cloth and towel sets, in addition to toiletries.
