Thank You: 135 Gift Bags Delivered to Women's Housing Coalition
We are filled with gratitude as we celebrate the success of our recent collaborative service project: The Women's Housing Coalition Gift Bag Project. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Stony Run community and Friends School of Baltimore, we lovingly prepared and delivered 135 gift bags to the Women’s Housing Coalition (WHC) in Baltimore.
These bags were filled with essential toiletries, warm socks, towel sets, and cozy blankets to provide comfort and care to WHC clients this holiday season. The Women’s Housing Coalition is dedicated to providing affordable housing and supportive services to women and children who have experienced homelessness, helping them achieve stability and independence in a safe, nurturing environment.
This achievement was made possible through the contributions of several groups:
- Friends School of Baltimore 3rd and 4th Grade Families: Families generously donated toiletries to fill the bags. Furthermore, the students used their creativity to decorate the bags with holiday themes and inspirational messages, adding a personal touch of warmth for every recipient.
- Stony Run Junior and Young Friends: Our Middle and High School Friends put their faith into action by conducting a successful Thanksgiving Pie Bake. Planning the menu, pre-selling the pies, and spending a Saturday together baking 39 delicious apple, pumpkin, pecan, and chocolate chip pecan pies to raise almost $800 for this project.
- Stony Run Friends: We are deeply grateful to the many members of our Meeting who contributed items and whose financial donations allowed us to purchase the remaining blankets, towels, and warm socks included in each gift.
Thank you to everyone who baked, decorated, donated, and organized. Together, we have sent a powerful message of love and solidarity to our neighbors at the Women's Housing Coalition.
