Stony Run Friends Community Garden: A Joint Project Between the Meeting and the School

Stony Run and Friends School is looking for summertime Community Garden Volunteers who can help throughout the summer with watering, weeding, and harvesting & delivering the crops. Please sign up here or email friendscommunitygarden@gmail.com for more information.
Most crucially, this year we're looking for a few "harvester" volunteers to help with harvesting and dropping the harvest off at the Govans Food Pantry (401 Woodbourne Avenue) on Wednesdays between 8:30 and 10am.  We only need one harvester per week, but the timeframe for dropoff is pretty narrow. We need help with watering 2-4x per week and weeding whenever possible.
The Stony Run Friends Community Garden is a joint project between the meeting and Friends School. During the summer, when most of us are away from campus, we rely on summer volunteers to keep the garden going. Through volunteer weeding, watering, and harvesting support, we've been able to deliver an average of 40+ bags of food to Govans Food Pantry (aka GEDCO CARES) each growing season.

If you're interested in helping but aren't sure if you know enough about gardening please don't hesitate to contact us via email, or talk with Andy Spawn to learn more about the garden.
