Stony Run Camping Weekend '25: Friends, Fun, and (Not) Roughing It
From Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28, 2025, approximately 20 Friends and six canine companions gathered for Stony Run's annual Camping Weekend at Quaker Camp Catoctin in the beautiful Catoctin Mountains of Maryland.
For more than 30 years, this weekend of not roughing it, brings individuals and families of all ages together for a nature-filled weekend of fellowship and fun. Activities this year included:
- Fishing, splashing, and canoeing in the "Goon."
- Hiking to Cunningham Falls.
- Foraging for chestnuts, pawpaws, and walnuts.
- Evening S'mores and singing around the fireplace.
- Shared meal preparation, board games, and plenty of opportunities for fellowship.
- Meeting for Worship on First Day morning.
A special thank you to Julie and Blaine for stewarding this beloved retreat for over 15 years!
