Freedom Walk 2026 Ends in Canada (750-Mile Journey)

After spending several nights at Stony Run Friends Meeting, the 2026 Freedom Walkers have ended their journey, crossing into Canada. You can read posts from along their journey here on Substack.

#FreedomWalk2026 was a modern-day retracing of the Underground Railroad to Canada. The 750-mile pilgrimage, following 19th-century routes to freedom, commemorates the brave self-liberators, abolitionists, and their secret networks, sparking inspiration for future generations to secure equity, justice, and liberation for all. This experience was supported by

The Menare Foundation, which supports the exploration of the history of the Underground Railroad, and Coming to the Table, supporting individuals and communities to acknowledge and heal wounds from the racism that is rooted in the United States’ history of slavery.

Congratulations to the Freedom Walkers on reaching the physical destination of their walk, tribute, and learning, commemorating all who were involved with the Underground Railroad and seeking justice moving forward for all.
