Community Assistance with Camp Gear
As children here at Stony Run and across Baltimore cross Baltimore get ready for summer, that means getting ready for camp! Several families in our community have reached out for assistance in helping their campers gear up for Quaker camps this year, and we hope that you can help us provide what they need.
Of course, we are willing to take any donations of new gear for these campers, but we are also wondering if you might have gently used gear left over from your own children's camping years - particularly sleeping pads for trips, sleeping bags, and internal-frame hiking backpacks.
If you have any of these camp essentials that you are looking to give away, please contact Laura in the Meeting office. We will keep a running list of our campers' needs on our wishlist, where you can also purchase gear, including items that are likely to have to be purchased new (like shoes).
In addition to supporting Stony Run's campers, we are mindful that there are others in the camping community who need help. You can make a donation to the BYM STRIDE program, which helps urban kids in Baltimore, DC, and Philadelphia attend camp, here.
